Is Tri-Cities Academy for Islamic Studies a full day school?
Tri-cities Academy for Islamic Studies is only on Friday’s from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m.

How long is the school year for Tri-Cities Academy?
Tri-Cities Academy's academic year is from September till the end of June.

We offer an online summer camp in July, depending on the availability of the teacher.

What age group children can register at Tri-Cities Islamic Academy?
Children between the age of 5 years - 15 years can register for in-person class at Douglas College.

Does Tri-cities Academy offer a trial class?
A child/children can not attend a class unless they are registered and the monthly tuition fee is paid.

Why can’t my child/ children have a trial class?
The reason for not allowing 1 trial class is that it doesn’t give a fair experience of what the school has to offer.

Can I join my child/ chilren in the class?
We do not allow parents to join their child/children in the class as it is a distraction and a cause of disturbance for both the students and teacher.
You are welcome to arrange a meeting with the teacher. Also, the teachers send out the course work covered in the class and assignments.

Is there any other class offered by Tri-Cities Academy?
For ages 12 and older, there is an online weekly class for one hour.

What is taught in online class?
Focus is on reading and Tafsir of Juz Amma (30) and a topic from Islamic studies weekend learning series

How do we get access to the online classes?
Once the registration form in filled and monthly tuition fee is paid a Zoom meeting link and passcode is emailed.

Are all kids in the same level and classes at the Tri-Cities Academy?
The students are grouped according to the school grades.
Group One: For students in kindergarten and grade 1.
Group Two: For students in grade 2 and grade 3.
Group Three: For students in grade 4, grade 5, and grade 6.

Group Four: For students from grade 7 and up.

What are the students’ taught at the Tri-Cities Islamic School?
The curriculum is divided into Islamic Studies (stories of the Prophets, pillars of faith, duas, oneness of Allah…) and the other half is Quran studies ( reading, understanding and memorising short Surahs).

Are the students taught the Quran with Tajwid?
Basic Quran Tajwid rules are taught. We use Qaidatul Madeenatin Nabawiyah which has all the tajweed rules.

Are students provided with school supplies?
It is each student’s responsibility to bring pencil, eraser, sharper, scissors to the school.

We do have spare stationary that the student can borrow in case they forget to bring their own.

What books are included in the Islamic Academy curriculum?
The books included in the Islamic Academy curriculum are:
- Weekend Learning Series Islamic Studies book:
Level 1-10 (assigned based on student's group/grade level)
- Qaidatul Madeenatin Nabawiyah
- Juz 30
- Juz Amma Translation: For students in grade 4 and up).
- Arabic Writing Books: Practice Arabic writing has level 1-3
which are assigned based on student’s (group/grade level).

How to purchase the curriculum books?
The payment for the curriculum books can be e-transferred to tricities.academy@gmail.com
The grade level teacher assigns and hands out the books.

Can my child share their sibling's books?
Each student has to purchase Qaida, Weekend Islamic Studies books, (as homework assignments are in the textbook),

Arabic writing books as each student learns to write in their book.
Juz Amma can be shared with siblings.

What items do students need to bring to each class?
Items to bring to the school are: pencil, eraser, colour pencils, pencil sharpener, nut free snack to eat between classes,
reusable water bottle, girls: bring a hijab, and a backpack to carry all the above

Is there a dress code for students?
The dress code for boys is as follows:
- Top: should be long enough that they don’t expose their back
when they go into sajood (prostrating on the floor).
- Bottoms: Pants, sweatpants, jeans, trousers, shorts or any
bottoms length should be well below the child's knees.
- Socks: Please wear clean dry socks. At times after a long rainy
day at elementary school their sock are wet and smelly, which
may bother them and other students in the class. Please keep an
extra pair of clean socks in your bag.

The dress code for girls is as follows:
- Top: Long sleeve top/ sweater/sweatshirts that are modest.
- Bottom: Pants, leggings, trousers, sweatpants or any type of
bottoms length should be ankle length.
- Socks: Please wear clean dry socks.. Please bring an extra pair.
- Head covering: Please bring a Hijab or a scarf to cover your head
during prayer times.

What is the cancellation policy?
If you wish to discontinue or cancel your child/children registration, please contact Tri-Cities Islamic School administration at tricities.academy@gmail.com
A minimum of two weeks notice is required for cancellation. Only cancellation requests sent to the above email address are acceptable. NO verbal handwritten, or text message cancellations are acceptable.
Tri-cities Islamic School doesn't consider a child's absence without notice as cancellation. Parents will be responsible for payment of monthly tuition fees until the child(ren) are officially unregistered.

What is the refund policy?
The monthly tuition fee is non-refundable.

Is Tri-Cities Academy for Islamic Studies a non- profit school?
Tri-cities Academy is a registered non - profit organization
